About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed capacity and safety improvements to Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County, Florida from just south of Busch Boulevard to just south of Fletcher Avenue. This project will enable more vehicles to safely use the road by adding another lane in each direction and create a safer highway corridor through interchange and lighting improvements, as well as by the concrete barrier wall that has been constructed in the median.
Improvement highlights for the I-275 corridor include:
- Increased from a four-lane highway to a six-lane highway.
- Improved and modified all interchange ramps.
- Repaired concrete slabs in existing travel lanes. Ground all lanes (old and new) to provide an even surface area.
- Constructed a median barrier wall to separate northbound and southbound interstate traffic.
- Improved drainage and lighting.
