Project Description

Financial Project Number: 258661-1-52-01
Project Limits: south of Progress Blvd. to north of State Road 60
Project Length: 4.2 miles
Estimated Construction Cost: $7.3 million
Contractor: Pepper Contracting Services, Inc.
Start Date: June 2, 2010
Estimated Completion: Spring 2012

About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) contractor will be rehabilitating the existing concrete pavement on northbound and southbound I-75, including three interchanges: U.S. Highway 301, Selmon Expressway (SR 618), and SR 60. It also includes all ramps within the project limits.

Most of the work will be done during night operations to minimize impacts to the motoring public. However, rehabilitation of a number of one-lane ramps requires extended weekend closures of each ramp. Alternate routes (detours) will be provided whenever one of these ramps is closed.

Traffic Flow
The construction is designed so that all existing lanes of traffic will be maintained on I-75 during peak traffic hours.

Night Work
In order to maintain the construction schedule and to minimize the impact to the public, it is necessary for the contractor to work at night. Lane closures and detours will be necessary during different phases of the project.

Lane Closure Hours
9 p.m. to 6 a.m.*

* Extended weekend ramp closures will be needed at times from 11 p.m. on Fridays to 5 a.m. on Mondays.
