About this Project
The Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) contractor has completed rehabilitating the concrete travel lanes and interchange ramps of Interstate I-275 from south of 62nd Avenue to north of Gandy Boulevard in St. Petersburg, Florida.

A grinding process was designed and used on both old and new concrete slabs after the rehabilitation was completed to provide a smooth roadway surface.

Other improvements consisted of:

  • Milling and resurfacing the shoulders of I-275 and Gandy Blvd.
  • Milling and resurfacing Gandy Blvd. at I-275
  • Replacing the traffic signal at the northbound I-275 exit ramp to westbound Gandy Blvd.
  • Installing a traffic monitoring site
  • Upgrading concrete bridge traffic railings

  • A traffic control plan was developed and used to minimize inconvenience to the traveling public. Lane closures and ramp closures were restricted during holiday periods and special events.

    Lane Closure Hours were
    * 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
